We stood on the rocks, and I held her as we faced the dark sea. The cool ocean breeze stroked our hair, stars flickered white above us while ships’ lights shone orange on the horizon.
I stood there, aware of the vertigo I feel whenever I stand on footing like this, with no solid ground in view – as if I was floating on air and about to tumble anytime, and I held her closer to steady myself.
And I thought; isn’t life like this? That as we face the great unknown, with nothing but the hopes we have shining in the horizon to tell us to keep going, the only things concrete are the present moment we stand on, and the people we hold dearest to us.

Ha! Just came by your site via your last life coaching blog — I like everything you said there about ending it and love even more this entry. Surprising, and real. What matters is this moment – concrete and the people we hold dear. Thank you for the reminder.
